Math Bowl 2026

Fall Creek Intermediate will be participating in the Indiana Math Bowl Competition. This academic team is open to all 5th and 6th grade students. Math Bowl requires students to be quick and flexible mathematical thinkers. Students will work in teams to quickly answer a variety of math problems based on Indiana State Standards for grades 4-7. In the 2026 competition, the content areas of data analysis, statistics, and probability.

Math Bowl tryouts will take place on Wednesday, February 18 before school or Thursday, February 19 before school. Students should arrive at school at 8:10 a.m., please drop off at the main entrance, Door 1, and then head to Mr. Teal’s room (room 517). Tryouts will take approximately 40 minutes for students. Selection onto the Math Bowl team will be based on the total amount of points earned on the test. FCI will keep a total of 32 students for the Math Bowl team.

The following practice dates are required, so please check your schedule before committing to the team. Math Bowl practices will take place before school, starting at 8:15 a.m.

• Thursday, February 26 – inter-district practice – Fishers High School – 5:00pm
• Wednesday, March 4
• Wednesday, March 11
• Wednesday, March 18
• Wednesday, March 25
• Wednesday, April 1 

Competition Date: Tuesday, April 14 at 5:00 p.m. – Fishers High School

Please complete the form, sent through Parent Square on January 19 by Friday, February 13 if your child is interested in trying out for the Math Bowl team. If he or she cannot attend the tryout, please e-mail Mr. Teal and Mrs. Chemelewski to arrange an alternate time to test. Students will be notified on Friday, February 20th about their status on the team.
